Project Overview

DB International Operations, as part of the QConnexiON consortium, were bidding for the ~CA$12bn, 50-year High Frequency Rail (HFR) project to design, build and operate a 1,000km high speed railway route between Toronto and Quebec. Worked closely with DB SMEs and consortium partners to develop the cross-discipline Interoperability response and Host Railways Management Plan while embedded into WSP Alignment Design Team to undertake extensive research to develop these responses.

Approach:

High Frequency Rail Project (HFR), Canada

Developed the proposal to emphasise the integration of the Consortium solutions with existing infrastructure at the lowest risk and optimised cost. Also developed the Track Access Charges Cost Model for the existing services running on the third-party rail network, along with HFR train services running on shared sections.
